Pro Player App Reviews
DOES NOT WORK
DO NOT BUY THIS APP! does not work, can even open any files from .mov to .mxf
Quick time that comes free is almoust the same, in fact, this is a reduce version of the quick time. Unable to copy screen (copy), unable to zoom.. and so on...
Player too expensive and shortcomings - still hangs, requires logging on to the AppStore. Version 1 was much more stable. The support applies only to the old version of the player. Bury purchase.
The simple elegance and functionality of this app is outstanding for managing all of your clips with everything you need displayed clearly. I really like the ability to have forward and backward individual frame control since Im always looking for sources of flicker on bad frames. It makes every clip look great as well by giving it a high tech frame. Nice job…..
Mr.
A waste of money. So sorry I got duped by the AppStore and the App itself.
Its a nice player application, but with all the talk about this app as a replacement for QuickTime Pro, I mistakenly thought I would be able to trim and resave files. My other issue with pro player is that Im not able to reduce the size of the window further. It simply takes up too much screen real estate for my setup. In short, $30 down the drain for me but others may find value. Ill continue to use QuickTime Pro until its no longer compatible with the Mac OS.
Feels more like a $2 or $5 app. Cant’ reduce window size. Provides frame by frame information in MIN:SEC:FRAME # format. So frame # needs to be converted to a regular digital timestamp to use for calculations.
I’ve been using the stand alone version for quite a while and see it as a standard for reviewing projects in process as well as for final review before sending it off to the client. This app has a professional quality that makes me feel confident in my product. I look forward to seeing more features added in the future.
Excellent player for professional use. Quick and easy to use. Working professionally it gives me the essential information Im looking for—as part of the standard on-screen display: codec, FPS, TC. Been using it since beta and switched over to the App store version to put it on all my machines.
I earlier wrote a review warning that if you had originally purchased Pro Player from Digital Heaven’s website you would lose functionality with the free version. That’s true - you lose file format info. The paid Plus Pack restores that along with a new favorites folder and recent files list, among other improvements. If you bought version 1 from the website I’d say the upgrade is uncertain. If you bought at the app store the upgrade is discounted and definitely worth it. If you don’t have this app at all, it is fantastic and highly recommended as a player. If you are screening videos all day you will appreciate the subdued look, the ability to scrub audio intelligibly at high speed, and the single frame advance/rewind. Product support from Digital Heaven is superb. I had a problem with the app store recognizing my purchase correctly and over the course of a few days had probably ten emails from the developer helping me out. One recommendation - I’d love to see an Air Play button incorporated into the app.
